Jessica Kirschner (she/her) joined VIVA in April 2023 as the Digital Publishing Coordinator. She supports the publication efforts of VIVA's Open and Affordable Course Content program, including managing publishing workflows and coordinating with external service providers.
Jessica began her career working in the acquisitions and department at SUNY Press. Since transitioning to librarianship, she has held various positions focusing on publishing and open education. Most recently, she was the OER Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University where she led the library's Open and Affordable Course Content Initiative, supporting faculty in the adoption, adaption, and creation of free course materials and running a grant program for faculty looking to transition to free course materials.
Jessica holds a Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and bachelor's degree from Brown University.
