VIVA: OTN Best Practices Forum
Beginning in 2019, VIVA began having an annual Open & Affordable Course Content Forum, covering existing and emerging issues in the field.
Previous to this, in 2017 and 2018, VIVA held an annual Open Textbook Network (OTN) Best Practices Forum. This forum was an opportunity to reconnect and share with other statewide leaders lessons learned in the course of the program. Previous Forum agenda's can be found below, and presentations from all VIVA events can be found on the VIVA Presentations page.
Due to COVID-19 the 2020 Open & Affordable Course Content Forum will now be a virtual event, but will still be held on September 25th.
The theme for this year's Forum is OER in Virginia: Creating a Caring Community, and features Dr. Amy Collier as the Forum's keynote speaker. Sessions will include: Open and Affordable Course Marking in Virginia; Struggles and Successes in the Creation of an Open United Nations Anti-Poverty Toolkit; Clearly You Can: Suddenly Open Resources; and a faculty student panel on Working with Students to Create an Open Community, among others.
The full day's agenda can be found here and may be downloaded here.
