VIVA Distinguished Service Award

The VIVA Distinguished Service Award was established by a resolution of the Steering Committee in 2008 to honor individuals for "remarkable dedication and superior service to colleagues in the Commonwealth of Virginia."

The first Distinguished Service Award was awarded to Harry Kriz on November 14, 2008, upon his retirement as Director of Interlibrary Services at Virginia Tech.

Iris Moubray was awarded the Distinguished Service Award on June 1, 2010, upon her retirement as VIVA Procurement Director.

Sharon Gasser was awarded the Distinguished Service Award on June 1, 2018, upon her retirement as Associate Dean, Libraries & Educational Technologies at James Madison University.
