Support for WorldCat Discovery

In March 2014, OCLC provided WorldCat Discovery Services as an alternate interface for FirstSearch subscribers. This new suite of cloud-based applications brings FirstSearch and WorldCat Local services together and will eventually serve as a replacement for both.

Libraries can start the migration here: http://www.oclc.org/worldcat-discovery/migration.en.html. This page also has a transition planning checklist.

A significant amount of VIVA's shared content is represented already in the WorldCat Discovery index, at least at the journal or book title level, but there are some additional databases that can be added. Once a library is ready to configure the interface with additional databases, such as is mentioned on this configuration help page: http://www.oclc.org/support/services/discovery/documentation/interface-settings.en.html, here is a list of databases mapped to VIVA shared holdings:
