VIVA is headed by a Steering Committee comprising members designated and elected from the member institutions and supported by a variety of committees comprising members selected from the member institutions. Operational responsibility for VIVA is conducted by the VIVA staff, currently the Director, Deputy Director, Office Coordinator, and Technical Support. - Steering Committee
Provides leadership for the Virtual Library of Virginia, and reports to the Library Advisory Commmittee of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
- Collections Committee
Investigates products, recommends licensing or renewal, and maintains vendor contacts for VIVA electronic databases and journals.
- Outreach Committee
Offers information and training to ensure that students and faculty are knowledgeable about VIVA products and ways they can be used in teaching and research.
- Resource Sharing Committee
Recommends Interlibrary Loan policy and maintains VIVA Interlibrary Loan Guidelines. Through its ILL Subcommittee, sponsors an annual ILL Forum for VIVA members.
- Ad Hoc Committees
Committees and Task Forces created as necessary to address issues across VIVA.
